After doing performance art at the Hollywood Bowl, we made our way to Venice Beach but unfortunately I ran out of film. So, imagine a place with lots of people everywhere and the sky is pink and white and the water is kind of blue-grey-red as far as you can see. It was pretty weird and cool--I wish I could have spent more time there but I had a plane to catch!

Sometimes, things are not what they seem. For instance, the people in this picture (Me, Liza, Ian, Nige), being members of South Saskatchewan Youth Orchestra, were all supposed to come home from LA a day early for a SSYO performance. Then, the director of SSYO said we would not be playing because we would have missed the dress rehearsal. Naturally, we think we are getting fed the hugest shaft! Thanks to some hard working organizers, instead of coming home a day early for absolutely nothing, we got to stay an extra day in LA! So, here we are sitting in some weird park under a freeway, waiting to get mugged.
While we were running around the LA area, we managed to find Hollywood. This is the four of us at the Hollywood Bowl--the coolest concert stage ever! Some interesting trivia, those box seats at the bottom of the picture go for millions of dollars each year. Crazy!
What LA trip would be complete without a mugging? Notice the label where they are all laying. Also notice that Liza is still smiling after she has been mugged.
